HomeGraft gives general guidance, not professional advice. You use our guides at your own risk. If a job is notifiable, structural, or involves gas, gas appliances or mains electrics, get a qualified professional. If you are not sure, stop and ask one.
These terms are the agreement between you and HomeGraft (“we”, “us”) covering your use of the HomeGraft app and website. By creating an account or using the app, you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the app. Questions: hello@homegraft.co.uk.
Our guides are written to be careful and accurate, but they are general information for a general reader. We have never seen your house. We do not know what is behind your walls, how your property was built, what previous owners did to it, or what condition anything is in.
You are responsible for the work you carry out. You must judge whether a job is within your competence, and stop if it is not.
You must use a qualified, registered professional for:
Where a guide mentions a regulation, that is a prompt to check the current rules yourself with your local authority building control or a qualified professional. Regulations change and vary between England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Our guides are not a substitute for approval, inspection or certification, and following one does not make work compliant.
Before drilling, cutting or chasing, treat every wall, floor and ceiling as if it has a cable or pipe in it, and prove otherwise. A detector reduces the risk but does not remove it.
The AI helper explains steps in simpler terms. It is generated by a language model and can be wrong. Treat its answers as a starting point, never as a safety check, a regulatory ruling or a substitute for a professional. The safety disclaimer above applies to AI answers in full.
You agree not to:
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules. Where it is fair to do so we will warn you first and, if you have paid, refund the unused part of your subscription.
The guides, text, design and code are ours and are protected by copyright. You may use them for your own DIY projects, including at your own home and for personal use — that is what they are for. You may not redistribute them commercially.
Anything you create in the app — your projects, notes and measurements — stays yours. You give us only the permission needed to store and display it back to you.
Every guide on HomeGraft is free to read, with no account needed. Paid plans cover saved projects, AI usage and removing ads.
Prices include VAT where it applies. Payments are handled by Stripe; we never see your card details. Subscriptions renew automatically each month until you cancel. If a payment fails we may suspend the paid features until it goes through.
Monthly AI allowances reset at the start of each calendar month and do not roll over. They exist to keep costs sane, not to catch you out — if you hit a limit through normal use, get in touch.
We may change prices, but not for a period you have already paid for. We will give at least 30 days' notice of a change to a subscription price, and you can cancel before it takes effect.
Cancel any time from your profile page, through the billing portal. Cancelling stops the next payment; you keep the paid features until the end of the period you have already paid for. We do not usually refund part-months.
Your 14-day right to cancel. Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 you normally have 14 days to change your mind about a digital purchase. Because access starts immediately, you are asked to agree to that at checkout and you acknowledge that you lose the 14-day right once the service has been supplied. Even so, if you bought by mistake or have barely used it, email hello@homegraft.co.uk and we will sort it out fairly.
The one-off Basic payment buys a permanent ad-free account. It does not renew and there is nothing to cancel.
You can close your account at any time. See the Privacy Policy for how to have your data deleted.
We try to keep HomeGraft running, but we do not promise it will always be available or error-free. We may change, suspend or withdraw features. If we permanently withdraw a paid feature you have paid for, we will refund you fairly.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be excluded under UK law. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.
Subject to that:
We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top, and for significant changes we will tell you in the app or by email. If you keep using HomeGraft after a change, you accept the new terms.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you can bring proceedings in your own courts.
